He followed perfectly willingly, grinning in response to her smile and her comment. Lucky... Luck was definitely something he believed in. In fact, him and lovely Lady Luck had a rather nice agreement. She helped him, as long as he didn't go too far, and he made sure he didn't. Though some might say luck had nothing to do with it in some cases(seeing as it most definitely didn't), this was not one of them.
It did make him wonder, though. There weren't many houses nearby. The closest housing facility was the corporation, but he tried not to dwell on that yet. After all, there was also other houses in the area. Just not that many.

(Sorry... short...)
The way to the Corporation Kaycee called home was quick. Lore may be a mutant but he did not go there, that Kaycee was sure about. So there wasn't any premise there. As soon as they got close, Kaycee began to ignite the spark again. She turned around and started kissing Lore again, slowly moving backwards as she ran her hands through his hair.

Unfortunately for dear Kaycee, he managed to notice where they were before she kissed him again, and he froze up, eyes stuck on the building. He didn't follow her movement toward the building, and in fact stood rather still, pulling away. Damn it. Talk about a way to really ruin the mood.
So, when, exactly, were you gonna tell me you were one of them?
He sounded rather insulted, although he wasn't sure why he should be. It wasn't like she meant anything, just like every girl before her. Right? But he couldn't even think about that. All it could focus on was the overpowering need to run, to get away from that cursed building that reminded him far too much of where he should be, of what he really was. Away from here, he could pretend his stealing was for the better, that he was doing what was right. But here... No, near this building that was impossible.

Kaycee put a hand on her hip in her typical "excuse me?" way. Not only had no other male before Lore ever pushed her away like that, but one of "them?" What was that supposed to mean?
I'm not sure what you mean by one of them but I do belong to the Corporation. And I would have mentioned it to you only if you were still there in the morning, Her tone harsh but truthful. What exactly is your point Lore? Kaycee asked boldly as she tilted her head to the side and waited for an explanation.

Still staring more at the building than her, sweater over his shoulder entirely forgotten, he backed up a few steps. There was fear in his eyes, a bit, but it was more of a hatred. Self-fear, and self-hatred. Not that there was many people who could distinguish between who which emotion was aimed at without speech involved, but, nonetheless.
My point is; I've got to go.
He replied quietly, feeling rather bad about the whole thing. If they'd stayed at the beach, or gone to a hotel, everything would have been just fine. But, they hadn't, and it wasn't. Quickly, he turned and walked away, needing to get away from that damn building. He could ignore that she was an archangel, perhaps, but there was no way he was going any closer to the Corporation.

Kaycee Hunter had never chased after a boy in her life. This wouldn't be the time she would start. However, she had also never had a boy walk away from her and to be honest, she felt a little hurt. That hurt quickly turned into fury as Kaycee yelled after Lore.
YOU WILL REGRET THIS LORE. Of course, Kaycee then spied her sweater hanging off the back of Lore's shoulder. That was unacceptable and a totally new reason for her to go after him. She took a few steps in his direction and then stopped to call after him again with less anger. Are you going to bring me my sweater back?

That comment on regretting this made him smile. It shouldn't have, really, but it did. It was just so.... movie-worthy. It was hilarious. However, at her question, he realized he did still have her sweater. Yeah, definitely a thief at heart. He spun back around, pausing, and quite a bit more relived when he saw the building was a good ways away now.
I am not going near that building again. You are perfectly welcome to come get it.
He replied, though he wasn't rude enough to drop it on the ground. He was feeling terrible, after all, for doing what he'd done(though he did still blame her for it ever being a possible occurrence). He slipped it off his shoulder, folding it neatly, and holding it, waiting for her to either storm over and get it or tell him to keep it or.... something.

Kaycee realized that although Lore was still a good distance away, he was enjoying this whole scene. Well Kaycee refused to be the center of his mocking. Keep it. She decided suddenly. I look better without it.
Then, to prove her point, Kaycee strutted back to the Corporation in her flimsy tank top, inappropriatly short skirt, and long black stiletto boots confidently. She was postive Lore was watching. That was the best part.

Of course, he hadn't been mocking her, but, he was also a bit of a ways away. That was probably what it had looked like. Nonetheless, when she told him to keep it, it was very much like a knife to the heart. And all he could think about on that subject was, Damn, I'm getting soft.
Not that that was a bad thing, not technically, but to him, it was very much the end of the world, or at least pretty darn close. He watched her turned around and walk away to the building he dreaded, and he sudden;y knew he wasn't going to be walking away. He scowled at his own weakness, though it wasn't particularly noticeable, and before anyone could blink he'd moved off into the bushes.
It was time to break in.
He slipped off his silver bracelets, tucking them in a safe hiding spot, so that they wouldn't rattle, and carefully tied the sweater around his waist, loose enough he could slip it if he got caught and someone grabbed it, but not loose enough it would come off of its own accord. And then, defying all reason and instinct, he headed to the corporation.
It wasn't as difficult getting in as he'd been expecting, really. But, then again, it wasn't the rooms they would be worried about. It would be the levels they did their work, whichever those were. He really should be doing this tomorrow, after a recon in the afternoon, but, then again, he wasn't exactly sure he'd still be okay with this by that point.
He definitely wasn't sure where he was going, but he'd been lucky enough to climb up to the row of windows that ran along the girl's rooms. Using what little he knew of her, and a few speculative guesses, he worked out what room he figured to be hers and slipped the lock on the window with a quickly formed set of pins and slid the window open, crawling in silently and untying the sweater from his waist, draping it over the chair.
He was about to just turn and leave, but he figured, for some strange reason, he should be leaving her a note, and explanation. So, he grabbed a loose piece of paper off her desk, and a pen, and managed to scratch down a quick apology, with his number next to a comment on calling him if she wanted a proper explanation(not something he often promised), then folded it in half, writing her name across it and laying it on the sweater, just in time to freeze at the sound of the doorknob turning, and no where near enough to hide before whoever it was came in.

Kaycee slammed the door to the Corporation in fury. The girls who looked up at her growled at both who she was and the noise it made. The boys who noticed her fiery entrance shot her looks of approval at her barely there outfit. Scowling, Kaycee ignored the eyes she normally would have acknowledged and headed straight to her room.
Little did she know, Lore was just leaving as she approached the door. She straightened her nameplate unnecessarily and quickly unlocked the door, fuming to herself. She didn't turn around to face the room, unaware Lore was still there, until she fluffed her hair in front of the mirror on the back of the door, making herself feel a little better.

Noting that she didn't come into the part of the room he was in, he slipped backwards, silent as a mouse. Though, of course, that simile left much to be desired in the area of truth. Mice weren't particularly quiet at all, with all their scratching and squeaking. He, however, stuck true to the general conception of the saying.
Upon making it to the window, and out, where he could cling to the edge of the building, as he had done before, he breathed a sigh of relief. That is, of course, until his foot slipped and, although he made no noise, he wasn't exactly in a great mood, dangling from the outside of a building. Practice was the only thing that saved him from screaming like a girl, what with being a few stories above the ground.
Pride, and the image of Kaycee simply laughing at his peril, prevented him from crying out for help, and it left him hanging, trying to find a new foothold and failing miserably.

Unfortunatly for Lore, Kaycee had sensitive hearing. She had gained this from living at the Corporation for so long where a single misheard word could end your life in a blink. She whirled around and saw a shoe hanging from her windowsill.
Puzzled, Kaycee tiptoed towards the window and stopped. Her sweater was lying, neatly folded, on her desk with a white piece of looseleaf on top. Kaycee, already putting the pieces together, shifted her eyes from the window to the note. It was short and when she finished reading it, the Archangel hottie already knew whose shoe that was.
Hello Lore, she purred, leaning contently on the windowsill, watching him hang there idly. So do I get my explanation now or do I have to call this number? she asked coyly, waving the note so he could see from his position.

He grimaced slightly, though there was a slightly amused smile twitching at the corner's of his lips. It was rather amusing, really, despite the fact he could be about to fall to his death. He figured he had a good enough grip for a little while though.
Well, could start with oh-so-cliche "it's not you, it's me" but it isn't quite believable. Thing is, it's the damn building. Not a whole lot scares me, but this building pulls it off with aplomb.
If it hadn't been for the fact he had, for the first time that evening, gone entirely serious, the little explanation sounding rather ridiculous on it's own. Of course, it wasn't like he was likely to lie, considering where he was right now.
However, helping me up would probably allow for a somewhat longer conversation.

Kaycee watched him, mildly entertained. Although she snorted a laugh when he spoke of the cliche, it disappeared quickly as he mentioned the building he was currently dangling from. The Archangel in her told her to just leave him there but Kaycee was amused by his antics and his desire to apologize to her via the note.
With a sigh at her own pity for him, Kaycee grabbed Lore's shoe. You better give me a longer conversation, she said as she found a good grip on his foot. Or everything you have heard about this place will become true. Now, ready?

Oh, I'm sure everything is already true... He thought with a slight grimace, before simply nodding. This was definitely an embarrassing moment; He hated asking for help. He wasn't about to inadvertently admit that he needed her assistance a second time, not after having openly asked or it once already. It wasn't like he had a reputation in this town yet, but that didn't mean this wouldn't potentially hurt it once he had one.
Once he was back on his feet, and rather red from the embarrassment of being not only caught, but caught in such a way that could have easily led to his death, he leaned back a bit against the windowsill. His eyes jumped around a bit, quite clearly nervous. Biting his lower lip didn't help keep it under wraps. But, then again, he had full reason to be afraid of something, even if it wasn't her.
