Alright enough was enough. Kaycee's normally long fuse suddenly exploded. She let out a vicious scream and Jace glanced at her through narrowed eyes, knowing exactly what she was doing. The air was quickly filled with the sound of locks unclicking within a ten mile radius. Every door and window of the warehouses swung open in unison as Kaycee lowered her voice and glared at Noel. Jace rested a hand on her shoulder and stepped forward.
I'm done with your stupid games kid. I hope the DA won't be too disappointed that I charred the package. He attempted humor darkly. Before Noel had probably time to recover from Kaycee's penetrating shriek, Jace had raised his hands and shot a 15 volt electric bolt towards him with a malicious and delighted expression on his face, slamming the boy into a nearby tree trunk, knocking him out cold.
Jace and Kaycee stepped towards the body and Kaycee snatched up his black book angrily. I don't know how he got this back but it won't happen again. She glared coldly and turned to her brother. What did he mean exactly by being left alone?
Jace ran a hand through her hair in an almost comforting way and bent down to inspect Noel. I don't know. But I'm damn sure we'll find out when we interrogate him. No mercy Kaycee, he fooled us too many times. Jace reminded her as he threw Noel's limp body over his shoulder. Besides the face scratch and black eye, the kid now had a few burns on his bare arms to show for his insolence.
Kaycee's smile slowly emerged with a matching cruel glint in her green eyes. No mercy is what I do best. She responded. And she and Jace began their walk back to the Corporation. Mission accomplished.
