{Yess, an introductory post! It sounds like fun <3 If you can't think of a way to come into this post, I really won't be too alarmed, I just thought it'd be cute <3 Or, really, I just kind of thought it'd be something cool for Chesh to be in the habit of doing.}
Old people were a mystery, even to Chesh. And yet he was headed in the direction of one, anyway. But he wasn't thinking that as he walked through the hospital. He was thinking about the flowers in his hand, and about the people he greeted as he walked down the hall, and about the situation and appearance of those he encountered. Each had a story, each a personality that Chesh was infinitely curious about.
The hospital was a place Chesh had spent most of his life in. Be it because he was truly ill or because his father was a doctor here while his mother ran the reception counter, Chesh basically grew up in the building. It was a nice place to be when he wasn't home, because there was never a shortage of people to meet or things to do. And if he didn't go to the hospital with his parents, he would be stuck a fair distance away in a country area of farms rather than in the town. But he could walk from his home to the town if the urge struck him. It was a far walk and took a lot of time, but he could do it.
Chesh knew where his mother was, she'd printed off the paper he clutched in his hand, but he wasn't sure where to find his father at that precise moment. Fortunately, he didn't want to. He was a boy on a mission, with his backpack full of candy bars and stuffed animals while several flowers were clutched in his left hand, a piece of paper in his right. Though he was sixteen years old, he still took the time to visit the lonely patients and brightening their day. In fact, they'd come to expect him, most of them.
Chesh inhaled, then entered room twenty with a smile on his lips. This was an elderly person, and he wasn't sure what to expect of her. It was always a little daunting to walk in on them. Were they going to yell? Were they going to insult him? Or would they be friendly? He never really knew.
"Good morning, ma'am,"Chesh greeted warmly, approaching her bed before offering her a flower. She smiled, telling him it was sweet of him to bring her a flower. Chesh was definitely relieved by that reaction, so he allowed a casual conversation to ensue- asking her all about her life and what made her happy as well as telling her that his name was Chesh, and that his father was a doctor at the hospital. Their conversation ended with Chesh saying he hoped she'd have a good day and that he had to check on the person in the next room. She smiled and asked him to come back and see her again, which he agreed to. It seemed her stay would be a fairly lengthy one.
Chesh left the room, quite satisfied. He moved on to the next room on his list- two doors down, room twenty-two. It sounded quiet, so he went inside only to find that there was already someone visiting the patient. Oops. Chesh glanced down at his handful of flowers, mentally counting them, before smiling. He had enough to part with one to the random visitor.
"Please excuse my interruption, but I have a flower to help brighten your day,"Chesh offered cheerfully, waiting for some reaction before he'd hand out the flowers.
{If the patient is a boy, he doesn't get a flower XD But if the visitor is a girl, she can have a flower. If the visitor is a boy, then I must edit my post so they can have candy bars *nods* }
