Super speed and endurance that was a cool power. Though Den preferred hers she probably should’ve shared that it wasn’t really illusions that were her forte, but the electromagnetic thingamagig, whatever Lance had called it, but she didn’t really know Allison that well so she figured it would be better to keep to her self for now. But wow she felt like she was in a comic book all the sudden, the X-men, and Corporation sounded like a good guy bad guy showdown. She thought that co-existing sounded good and ruling brought back old history show flashbacks of Alexander the Great and Hitler. Yet at this moment she agreed with Allison she didn’t want to choose sides. “So why here do you know, it’s not like Bayville is like the choice spot for vacations, so why is it like mutant central?” [/color]Maybe if she knew more she could decide, doubtful, she didn’t like tough decisions, but still it’s always good to be well informed she thought.

Ally did a weird cross between a head tilt and shrugging her shoulders. Well I was born and raised her. Most families you come across were born and raised here. And you know, mutants research and figure our about the Corporation and the Institute and come to join one or the other. Or they go out and recruit outsiders. Why the X-Men and Archangels set up their headquarters here and what not is beyond me. She gave a mischevious grin. Of course the regular humans don't know what the Institution really is and they have no idea they're living in such a mutant populated area! She winked as though she had just shared a huge secret, but in some ways, she had.

The rush of information was helpful to Anika, but sadly she still had no idea where she stood, and what to do, but at least she knew more. “So is there’s a group that haven’t chosen yet, but if your one of them then you still sort of a loner, awe that kinda sucks. At least nobody knows about the mutants, in the town where I came from everyone knew, well they didn’t know if you were a mutant, but they assumed you were a freak.” Flashes of her old town and school shook Anika, the ridicule, rejection and occasionally abuse. Lance was the only one who really accepted her, even her parents couldn’t. Still she was here now and she had to admit she liked Ally, in a total straight way.
“Thanks, I wouldn’t have known who to ask this stuff, and again I’m really sorry that I used my powers to try and freak you out.” She didn’t know what to say other than that, and there wasn’t much she could either she would ask Ally to hang out, but it was nearly midnight, but then again she though what harm in trying. “This sounds kinda weird, but wanna hang out for a bit?” It turned out she was wrong there was harm in trying, harm of sounding really creepy, it turned out it was one of those things that sounded better in your head. Oh well too late.

Ally laughed. Don't worry about the loner crap. In a way its a good thing, because once you're associated with the X-Men or Corporation, then other mutants and maybe even some humans know that you are, but if you're a loner, the only ones who knows you're a mutant is yourself... and anyone you trust enough to reveal your secret to. It was a fact, plain and simple. Few people knew about Ally's gift, and those who did were mutants. Her secret was safe... until it came time to pick a side and she didn't know which way she was leaning towards yet.
And don't worry about the powers thing. It was fun... and sort of refreshing to meet a new mutant and new set of powers. I mean, I love my friends and everything, but it's always sort of neat to see what others can do, you know? She wasn't sure if she was explaining herself very well, but whatever.
Ally pulled out her iPod to check the time. Well it is late... but not too late. It's a weekend, so my parents won't freak or anything if I come home a little late.... or not at all. She winked at Den, not at all bothered by the somewhat creepy manner that she had been asked to hang out.

If people were going to find out about her being a mutant if she choose one of the two “organizations” then there was no chance she would. She liked being treated like a human being and the fact that everyone thought that she was, except a few, but they were cool. Den just realized that Allison had just kind of said that she trusted her, Den knew that she should probably be more forward about her ability. Allison didn’t even have to tell Den that she was a mutant, but she did and she had helped Den a lot. Plus she blew off the whole Den trying to scare her as a cool-ish thing. As Allison pulled out her ipod Den considered the positives and negatives of telling her, but the negatives were ridiculous and scarce so Den decided to tell her. Just as She was about to tell her Allison said that in a kind of subtle way that she was cool with hanging out with Den, it was a little creepy how she said not at all though, but Den blew it off she had been nothing but weird since she was born so no big deal. “Sweet my parents would totally have spazed if I was late.” Den laughed her parents would have called the cops thinking that she had gone missing, they over reacted badly a lot. “Well there is one thing I should tell you… I actually don’t just do illusions that’s like the easy part.” This was harder then she though, she had only told Lance about her true powers and he was her best friend. Oh well just blurt it out quick before you chicken. “I kinda can control the electromagnetic spectrum thingy so its like from UV to gamma and all the stuff in between including color and light which is the illusions.” OMG what have I done[/i] Den felt panicked she felt like she would turn around and Allison would start screaming to the world what Den was and what she could do. Still at the same moment she felt lighter kinda half drunk but in a happy not out of it way. She hoped neither emotion showed on her face as she looked back to Allison, and waited for her reaction.

~lmao I love Ally~
Ally tilted her head to the side in confusion as Den blurted out her powers and turned away in only what Ally could assume was embarassment.
For a moment, she felt like a complete idiot, but she shrugged it off. Only an idiot would pretend to know what she had said and play along while acting like a fool for not fully comprehending.
Right Den, I know I look like a red-head world genius, but you should probably know I'm barely passing science. What does all the gibberish about UV rays and gamma and whatever other words you just word mean. Please pretend I'm a five year old for a second.

Ok so Den hardly knew what she was talking about let alone explain it. She searched through the large mess she likes to refer to as her mind, trying to find what strange definition Lance had given her. Luckily she was great at recalling random facts and in a moment she remembered. “The electromagnetic spectrum in short is the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation which is a phenomenon that takes the form of self-propagating waves in a vacuum or in matter. It comprises electric and magnetic field components, which oscillate in phase perpendicular to each other and perpendicular to the direction of energy propagation.” She spurted that like a auctioneer (really fast), and had to take a huge breath before continuing. “Ya I know that is really messed up, but basically I can mess with, manipulate, and create “waves” not like water waves, but like these electromagnetic ones I guess. That means that things like gamma waves, which could give you cancer or melt your face off, microwaves, like a microwave, radio waves, so cell phone signals, TV, radios,. Then there is visible waves which is light color which is what you saw, the list goes on, there is UV so like sunburns, tans, cancer again, but I’m not so safe with most of them so I stick to the visible stuff. Does that make it any clearer?” Den knew that if it did it probably didn’t much but oh well she doesn’t even totally understand it all herself.

Ally really focused on what Den was saying. Now that she knew just how complex her power was, she really needed to focus so she could comprehend the definition Den provided. After the first bit, Ally was still confused and opened her mouth to ask for further clarification, but Den continued speaking. Ally closed her mouth and listened once again, and after this she really got it.
Oh cool! She picked up on the fact that Den's power could be extremely dangerous, especially in the wrong hands, but she was too impressed to be worried at the moment. i mean, way more awesome then super speed and endurance. That's super cool. How long have you known your a mutant?

“Its not that cool and its actually lame cause I nearly pass out if I manipulate anything other than light and radio waves, let alone create them. Thought it is beneficial cause I always have a perfect tan if I want.” Den actually hated her ability at the same time she loved it. She was rejected because of it, but it was part of her. “I think I’ve known for a couple of months, but the powers started when I was thirteen I was really hungry and bent the light and color to make a pie on my desk.” A giggle escaped it was a weird way to have her powers start, but she was glad that she didn’t start by microwaving off someone’s face. “Still super speed and is way cooler and more useable, I might be able to make it look like I’m not late for school, but you can actually zoom there and not be late.” Plus I bet super speed would be easier to control she thought. A flash of a fight she had with some random kid in her school because he called Lance gay came into her mind. She didn’t mean to use her powers but she was so angry, he was in the hospital for weeks, that was when her parents started freaking and changing. She cringed at the memory it’s over done with there isn’t anything I can do to change the past, still she wished she could.

Ally grinned when Den explained how her powers had manifested and she did laugh when Den pointed out she could never be late for school. That's actually how my powers came. I woke up late one morning. Actually, about five minutes before school started. Normally it's a fifteen to twenty minute walk from my house. When I realized my alarm didn't go off, I ran to get dressed and ran to school. Got there with four and a half minutes to spare. She laughed, as the memory always did.
Ally sort of shrugged, her amusement ebbing away when Den commented her power was awesome. Unfortunately, even with such an 'awesome' power, there were setbacks. Well you know keeping your power a secret is hard. You understand that. I haven't even told my parents. She sighed.
As great as my power is, I can't play sports. I get too competitive, and imagine how terrible it would look if I was always the star player. I'd always win in track. I'd always make touchdowns in football. I'd be scoring in soccer and hockey before the other players had a chance to blink. I know slowing down is always an option, but once you get caught up in the moment, you lose focus.
Then she rolled her eyes. I had to take up cheerleading because it only involves jumping and dancing and yelling. Nothing exposing about it, plus it lends an excuse as to how I'm in shape without playing sports. When she was younger, she had always despised cheerleaders because they seemed so girly, but now she was one. Funny.

Den listened intently as Allison described how her powers came about. It was a funny story and she couldn’t help thinking of all the times she ran to school and was late, almost everyday. When Allison said that she still hadn’t told her parents Den recalled the night she told then, and winced. “Telling parents is definitely the hardest, mine just didn’t understand.” As Allison continues about how she had issues with sports and competition Den remembered a cousin of hers who had a bad leg. He could compete in normal sports because it was too hard, but he really wanted to be an athlete. “My cousin had a bad leg and couldn’t run or anything, but he did horse sports, skydiving, dirt biking and stuff like that. I know your legs aren’t “bad”” she emphasized the bad using the quotation marks with her hands. “but they are all sports that you could probably do too.” Den could tell from Allison’s voice that cheerleading wasn’t her first choice.

Allison shrugged and nodded. True, although I don't consider dirt biking a sport, and sky diving is more of an adrenline rush then anything. As for horse back riding... Well we can't really afford it. Cheerleading is the most convenient and cheapest by far... although I'm not too fond of it myself, I guess it does have perks. I mean, I get to attend all the boys sports events for free, and I got asked out by a couple of hot jocks. She giggled at the last one and winked.
