Appearance; Born with Chestnut brown hair, she dyed it amber brown at 14. She has natural brown eyes, but enjoys changing their color with her power “just to creep people out”. Her apparel is usually jeans, a black tank top or t-shirt, a hat (as seen above) and her black denim jacket, on occasion she will also wear her lucky tie (as seen above). This of course is easily changed because of her ability.
Personality; Den is a very social person mostly within her group, but she has extreme difficulty being herself around anyone she doesn’t trust with her life. Because of this she has a close group of friends that would do anything for her, and anyone who becomes friends with she would give her life for. Fortunately she has a natural aptitude for reading people which helps her make friends, One thing she enjoys is testing people with her powers (ex she’ll talk to them as someone drop dead gorgeous or not really attractive and see if they judge her because of that, or if they actually try to get to know her). Of course with her powers Den naturally likes to mess people up, by causing them to randomly get sunburn on their forehead, or making them see everything as an “opposite” color.
Unfortunately for everyone Den has a short temper, and it is hard to sense when she is angry till it’s too late. When its too late Den unfortunately loses most of the control over her power and colors start changing around her, and a numerous amount of “dark” and “scary” images appear, such as the person she is angry at dead from various causes, or their worse fears if she knows them. If she is emotionally stressed out, tired or provoked more at this point she tends to start microwaving things unintentionally. Even worse is that Den finds it more amusing than a marathon of her favorite show, when she fakes a “its too late and worse” at someone and they become frightened, and sometimes pass out.
Fortunately for everyone Den loves to find humor in everything, even the most serious situations. This is coupled with her constant need for a sarcastic outlook. Her sarcasm is sometimes an issue with many people though, because when she is being serious and you think she is being sarcastic it really pisses her off. (aka pet peeve).
History; Den grew up in rural Saskatchewan, with no real issues. She has no siblings, but is was social with her friends and practically lived with them. She loves her parents more than anything, but was constantly getting in fights with them over the use of her newfound mutant powers.
Her powers manifested when she was 13, one afternoon during class. She had skipped lunch, and couldn’t help envisioning the pie that she had made last night just sitting on the counter waiting to be eaten. Then out of nothing it materialized on the desk in front of her. At first she thought that it was just her imagination, but when her friend (and crush) Lance asked her why she had a pie on her social text book she realized it obviously wasn’t. The pie eventually disappeared after Den tried to touch it, but she started to have a lot of incidences where she would be daydreaming and something she was “envisioning” would appear. Eventually she tried purposely creating things, and found she could. Not wanting to panic her parents she told Lance and as the sci-fi geek she had come to know and adore, he was able to deduce that she was a mutant. Upon the realization of this she told her parents, but was devastated to find out that they forbid her to use her powers.
After over a year of screaming fights with her parents and ridicule from her small minded community, Den finally decided to leave. Lance had been keeping tabs on all the mutant related activity in North America ever since the pie incident, when he first had suspected that Den was a mutant. He had been able to discover that there almost ten times the average amount of MA (mutant activity) around a larger town called Bayville, in the US. When Den told him that she was leaving to go look for somewhere that would accept her he suggested to start there.

Codename; Once a friend called her Mirage, sadly he didn’t anything but neon pink and orange for a week.
Power(s); The power to manipulate and create electromagnetic energy (electromagnetic spectrum) Though at this point in time Den is only able to effectively and controlling manipulate/create the visible area on the spectrum (aka color). With very little control she has been experimenting with infrared radiation, radio waves, microwaves and ultraviolet radiation. When using her “color” power she is able to essentially create mirages, though she has no power to alter depth perception. Though when using her ability to the fullest she could give you anything from a sunburn to give you cancer, or fry you. Of course she has no skill in going to that extent, but when her emotions are at high or low there is a possibility for her to lose control over her power. (when she goes unconscious all “mirages” disappear, but any other “energy” that she was manipulating is left to its “own devices”.
