Physically, Esther suffers no limitation for her matter manipulation ability always keep her at top-notch condition. However, living for so long had leave some scars on Esther mentally. Most obviously was her complete disrespect and ignorance for living things.

Her complete disrespect for life means that she is a very cold and distant person. Saying that she is an iceberg is underrated, for her coldness is far beyond absolute zero. Kindness and compassion were for the weak and delusional, for the law of nature specifically forbids it. Sadness and sorrow were unneeded for they only hamper the process of her research and should be purge. Rage and anger shouldn't even be allowed to exist in the heart of a scientist. There is nothing more important than her research, not even her own life. She was a bit vain as well, as she kept her physical appearance young through her matter manipulation ability.

It was not known for how long Esther had lived, but it was known that she had live through many generations and through many names. It was suggested that she was far older than her current physical appearance. Of course it was true, but the problem was how long had she lived. One thing was for sure, anyone who knew her personally had all passed away. She also had no family, living from one place to another, never stopping at one place for too long.
It was only starting to be clear to those who tried to investigate her history that she had started to appear shortly before a certain company had claimed to discover the 'Cure' for mutant kind. She was somehow involved in the project that eventually caused grief to so many in the world but what her role in there was not known. In truth, it was her that made the Cure so that it would work as well as it did. Or as worse as it did. She made sure that the Cure would only suppress instead of being so effective that it could change mutants into humans, although she didn't have to do much anyway: The nature of the Cure itself was only temporary anyway.
After that, she secretly hid herself away with samples of the Cure. Her matter manipulation powers allow he to duplicate the samples whenever she needed it, although she already had the signature of the Cure within her memories. She left behind a duplicated dead body behind to 'kill' any possible pursues off tracks as she knew many secrets that others would like her dead for. Her cunning and intelligence, combined with her power, made her almost impossible to catch unless she wanted you to find her.
She recently resurfaced due to a certain person's request, and the fact of the presence of a very interesting research subject.

Matter Manipulation
Esther has the ability to manipulate matter in a sub-atomic level and was known to use her own knowledge and power in combinations for ridiculous (and at the same time, crazy) results. Her powerful abilities allow her to even alter living creatures biologically. Although she lacked the power to create something out of nothing, she is more than capable to create something from something.
