Taki Sato rubbed his face and sat up in his bed. It was always a struggle not to fall off his narrow bed, but unlike some of the other's- at least he had sheets.
He stretched a little and shook his head to rid his mind of scattered dreams from the past sleep. His feet seemed to turn to icecubes once they hit the cold wooden floor but in a way, they were used to it. Quickly, Taki donned his black hoodie and dark jeans that matched his black asian hair without trying. He wore the same outfit everyday, he just had two pairs. It was actually a privalege; the slaves below him wore more humilating clothing to say the least.
His door was unlocked since the sound of the metal moving was what woke Taki up every morning on time. Of course, hardly anyone but the night shift guards were up now- it was only six am.
Taki spent the next two hours hurrying around the Corporation. He preheated the ovens for the chefs, prepared the disgusting oatmeal slop the prisoner's got, and at the last few moments- put together the Dark Angel's meal.
At 7:58 am, Taki stood outside the Dark Angel's office and waited patiently to be summoned in as he was every morning. Getting the Dark Angel's breakfast was an honor but if he messed it up, the punishment would be severe. So Taki Sato waited silently, nodding at the guard's that passed him respectfully. Just another day.

Dark Angel's room was actually attached to his office. Two large wooden doors seperated his bedroom from his office. Every morning, he locked his room, not with a key, but with the blades he turned his hands into. That way there was no key that had to be managed, and nobody else (except Nick of course) knew of this power. In other words, nobody could get in.
His office was usually locked too, but every morning after emerging from his room, he would unlock his office, sit behind his desk and start on checking that everything was still in order on the new door. At exactly 8:00 am he would summon whoever was lingering outside to come in with his breakfast.
You didn't want to know what happened if there was nobody out there at 8:00 am with his breakfast.
Having made sure everything was in order, he leaned back in his seat. 8:00 am on the dot. Come in.

Taki tried to hear emotion in the Dark Angel's voice through the door to give him a clue of his mood that morning. But he heard nothing unusual. Obediantly, Taki pushed open the door and slipped in. He walked carefully to the desk before the Dark Angel and laid the tray down, dipping his head respectfully as he did so.
Master. Was all he said as he clasped his hands behind his back and waited.
As far as Taki knew, he was the only prisoner quite like himself. There weren't very many slaves here at all and none of them had been here as long as he had. He wondered sometimes how the Dark Angel considered him and thought as he stood before him like the little puppy he knew he was.

The prisoners and slaves would always stand and wait until they were dismissed. Dark Angel cleared his desk for the tray and plucked the napkin off and placed it neatly across his lap.
He then added his milk into his coffee and quickly glanced over his breakfast. He picked up his fork and poked at the two fat sausage links. How many times have I told them, I do not like sausage? He sounded somewhat amused, but underneath it, he was irritated.
He looked up and caught Taki's eye. Pull up a chair and sit. He nodded to the corner of his office to a spare chair. While Taki did as he was ordered, he rolled the links off his plate onto a much smaller plate. He pushed the little plate over to where Taki was sitting. Eat. I do hate seeing food go to waste.

First of all, when the Dark Angel tells you to do something and your whole life sits in his hands, you do it. Taki glanced over at the church nervously and did as he was instructed. It wasn't often the Dark Angel spoke to him except for the odd word here and there. Surprising, since Taki was one of the only prisoners who actually served their leader.
Oh... uh yes, sir. He said, cautiously and took a bite out of one of the sausage links. It was delicious to Taki- since he didn't ever get good food due to his position in life.

Dark Angel took a sip of his coffee, watching Taki eat the sausages. Make sure you tell Antoine that I don't want any more sausages. I've told him before, but should he forget again... well, use your imagination.
He picked up his fork and began eating his food slowly and neatly, as if he had all the time in the world. After a couple mouthfuls, he spoke again. Nick tells me he promoted you to official tracker. It wasn't a question, more like a statement, however he raised his eyes, which held no emotion, to Taki and waited for a response.

In only a few short minutes, Taki had scarfed down the sausages. Embarrassed, he wiped his mouth carefully with his sleeve and moved the plate to the side before flicking his eyes back up to the Dark Angel.
Of course sir, absolutely. He responded, wondering how the chef would respond to those news. And what would happen if he didn't remember. Taki made a mental note to speak to him and come up with something imaginitive.
When the Dark Angel addressed him directly, Taki caught his breath and struggled to answer without stuttering. Uh yes, sir. He, he did.

Dark Angel felt a smirk tug at his lips when Taki wolfed down the sausages in only a few seconds. Don't eat so fast. You'll give yourself a stomach ache, and then you won't be useful at all for the day. His eyes glittered. That or you'll be going about your work in pain.
He ate a couple more mouthfuls. You've been a loyal prisoner Taki. Unusually trustworthy. He seemed to be thinking out loud, which was very normal for him. Though when he was in this state, it was safe not to interrupt, or heads would roll... literally. And you've never tried to escape either. Odd. He smirked and stabbed his eggs with his fork. You are a very peculiar case indeed, Taki Sato.

Taki, ashamed of his fast eating and already feeling his stomach tying up, cast his glance away from the empty plate after the DA commented.
As he did normally when he was nervous, Taki ran a hand through his hair as his master spoke of him. This was new and he wasn't sure what to think of it. But he did know well enough to wait for him to finish before he answered.
Well sir, if I beg your pardon, where would I go? His smile was sad. Not only have you given me everything here but I have no family and no friends. My life is dedicated to serving you. He blinked slowly and tried to keep eye contact with the Dark Angel. I would only make it harder on myself to be untrustworthy. Physically and emotionally. Finished with this painful expression, Taki forced his fidgety hands to settle as they clasped together on his lap.

Dark Angel listened while Taki spoke, finishing off his meal. Nick said he offered you the position of a full time member, but you declined. Why? As a full time member, you would be respected, especially if you dedicated yourself to battles and missions. You wouldn't live in constant fear of Jace.
Dark Angel shrugged and threw his napkin on his plate. Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad you haven't tried leaving or joining those X fools. You have a marvellous talent and I'd hate to see it in the wrong hands. He smirked over his desk at the teenage boy.

Taki paused and clutched his fingers more tightly together. He didn't want the Dark Angel to be angry with him, or think he was arguing. But he had been asked a question and took the oppurtunity to answer it.
Sir, I'm... Well, when you first brought me here, I was tortured and treated like dirt. Wish I'm sure you know and I don't mean to insult your ways. But, but since then, I have continued to be abused.. and I can't picture myself... becoming equals with those who daily leave bruises on my body. I'm sorry sir, I just couldn't do it. It was the truth and Taki could only wonder how the D.A. would take it.
Thank you master. He responded quietly, forcing himself to hold the tears in that he longed to cry.

Dark Angel shrugged. I couldn't care less what your reasons are, as long as you don't go running off to those pathetic human lovers.
He looked up and couldn't help the exasperated sigh that escaped him. Suck it up. Crying doesn't fix anything and makes you weak, and you should know as well as everyone else, weaklings are not tolerated in my Corporation. Understand?

Of course the Dark Angel wouldn't understand. All his warriors held their emotions in. Taki normally tried not to show pain and supposed it was because he was so nervous that he had faltered. So he drew into himself and raised his eyes. Yes sir, I understand. he answered, absently tracing the scar above his left brow. Can I do anything else for you sir?

Dark Angel didn't respond right away. He looked around his office, as though hoping things for Taki would pop out, but after a minute he focused back on Taki. No there isn't. Take my tray away. I have lots of work to do. You are dismissed.
He pushed his tray towards Taki. If you see Nick however, do send him here. We have pressing matters to discuss.

Taki nodded dumbly and picked up the tray. He headed to the door with a respectful nod and paused with his hand on the doorknob.
Sir, he hesitated. Thank you for not killing me. He said, referring to the day the Dark Angel chose to enslave him rather than let him die.
