Taki raised his eyes finally to watch the exchange between the guard and Peyton. The moment the girl had grabbed his face and held it between her fingertips with abnormal strength, he had known she was something to fear. Apparently all the guards here knew it, despite whether they liked it or not.
He wasn't sure who they were going to send but was relieved for a moment when the door opened and the person standing there was a stranger. Taki preferred interrogation by people he had no connection with previously. It just made things easier.
The other boy's gaze however unnerved him. Taki didn't particularly like people staring at him. He decided to ignore his question, figuring Peyton probably wouldn't like him talking out of turn. He was still nervous around her, even though he had been rather bold lately. That itself was unusual.
But when she ordered him to speak to the newcomer, Taki decided to pick his battles and spoke up. Hi, I'm Taki Sato. He said as he lightly touched one of the visible scars on his cheek. I would say nice to meet you, but it kind of isn't. Taki added lightly, to ease some of the room's obvious tension.

Sinclair ignored her question since she hadn't finished it. He wasn't going to ask her to finish, and he really didn't want to answer any questions if he didn't have to. So he merely waited and watched her for any movement, any further comment really. And she did provide one by telling him exactly what he was here for. But was that wise? Wasn't it more beneficial to keep Taki in the dark rather than to admit so willingly exactly what it was that Sinclair could do? No matter, he could not do anything about it now.
"Uh-huhh,"Sinclair agreed passively. He didn't have much to say to what he was told to do. He'd help her out, but it wasn't going to be any great honor. If anything he would remain indifferent.
A slave? Sinclair did not pride himself on his humanitarian tendencies, but there was no doubt that he was alarmed by such a statement. This was a human being, and the idea of slavery was primative in his mind. Something they should have got past long, long ago.
Sinclair smiled at Taki as he introduced himself.
"Well, as she said, I'm the kid that's calling your bluff."Sinclair offered casually before adding,"Don't worry, if things get real personal, I'll have your back. I won't let her pry out any intimate details, or anything she doesn't need to know, for that matter. After all, she'll never know. Will you, Süße*?" His question wasn't one he really expected an answer to, honestly. Not from Peyton.
(Süße is the feminem version of sweetie.)

Peyton was getting more aggravated by the second at the fact that she could not figure out why Sinclair looked so familiar anymore. There was something about his voice in particular-- like a dream from her past that had long been forgotten. But she put this concern aside when she noticed Sinclair taking Taki's side. She could not have that. Did he not know who she was?
Peyton raised an eyebrow. "You will do not such thing." She would have said more on any other occasion, but she had yet to assess the new kid and how to approach him. Plus, she still could not get around the fact that she seemed to know him from somewhere.
"Now, Taki. The Corporation has reason to believe that you slaves have forgotten your place and are in the midst of planning a futile attempt at a prisonbreak or revolution or whatever you would like to call it. Is that true?"

Taki found himself soothed by the Archangel's words. He knew most of them by name and all of them by power, thanks to his own gift but he had never seen this one before. And it was kind of off that this random lie detecting person would be so friendly to him. Taki could only assume Sinclair hadn't been here long enough to develop cruel intentions to slaves like him.
But of course, Peyton had to jump in and bring the friendly-ish conversation to a close with a bold move. He leaned back in his chair and licked his lips thoughtfully before answering. He of course knew Sin was a real detector of lies. He could feel it. There was no bluffing. The game was over.
Yes. That is correct. Can I go now? My hard dirt floor is calling me. Taki's fury with the situation and himself echoed in his smart-ass comment at Peyton. Then, he prepared himself for the slap that wpuld surely come from that.

Sinclair wasn't going to argue with Peyton, and since Taki was near, he couldn't have explained even if he wanted to. So he fell silent, watching Taki closely. He was here for a reason, he'd do as Peyton said.
What Taki said was true, but Sinclair wasn't sure how to communicate that to Peyton discreetly. If Taki had been lying, it would have been easy to think of something, but this. . .Sinclair decided to approach it the same way.
"Our friend here should get a merit badge for his honesty- are there any in this dark, scary room, by chance?"Sinclair questioned cheerily."Or, better yet, maybe I shall bring him some jello later. Do you like jello, my friend?" As he addressed Taki, asking if he liked jello, he drew his gaze back to Taki. He didn't intend on taking his gaze away again because he didn't want to miss the answer to the next question that Peyton asked.

"That is all I needed to know. That wasn't so hard, now was it, Mr. Soto?" Peyton asked. Satisfied with the information that she retrieved, she did not find it necessary to torture the poor prisoner any further. "Yes, you may return to your hard dirt floor. That is, unless the lie detector is serious about bringing you jell-o." Peyton lifted an eyebrow and looked over at the other archangel that was standing in the room with her. He was a strange one, in addition to being so familiar. She was now anxious to go and research who he was, from where he came, what his other powers were, who his parents were, who his grandparents were, his phone number, his room number, his original hair color, his blood type, his second cousin's maiden name, and anything else that she could find.
"I will be going now. You two play nice," she said half-sweetly, half-menacingly as she left the room, the clicking of her heels against the cold tile floor fading away into the distance.

-Sorry for the shortness-
Taki banged his head on the table not too softly. He couldn't believe he had said what he had said. Crap, crap, crap, and a bunch of other cuss words. I don't deserve Jell-o. He groaned into the table.

{No worries, it made me laugh <3}
Sinclair stared, somewhat shocked. He had gotten woken up for that? Just that? Really? No long interrogation? One question? He stared after the little girl, just waiting for her to turn around. Had he been less shocked, he probably would have been really really angry at her, because like he had told her, she interrupted a very good dream.
The bang on the table made Sinclair jump, his eyes locking the source of the sound, Taki, immediately. He wasn't sure what to think, and he didn't say anything at all, he just stared at Taki. That was, until Taki spoke. Then Sinclair burst into laughter. After all that, all Taki could say was he didn't deserve jello?
"Haha, I'll bring you jello anyway,"Sinclair promised."Anyone that has to put up with that little girl deserves jello, you know, to recuperate. Besides, I owe you for answering that girl's silly question- you made my job a lot easier. I wouldn't want to divulge anything you didn't want out there, not for her. A cute girl I was trying to impress, maybe, but not her."

If she hurts all those kids, I am going to kill myself trying to kill her. I'm serious. I don't care what she does to me as long as I get a few punches in. He groaned as he lifted his head up to stare at Sinclair.
Taki supposed he sounded funny but he had just said the first thing that had popped in his head. She is evil, he agreed. I'm glad I made somebody's day better at least.

"Hurt what kids?"Sinclair questioned curiously. He couldn't say he knew exactly what the situation he came in on was, all he did know was what Peyton apparently needed to know, nothing more, nothing less. He didn't have the full story by any means. Not even close. And he really did not want it, either. Hopefully he hadn't really helped Peyton, hopefully he hadn't been the reason that Taki divulged a secret he shouldn't have. Sinclair assumed this was the case initially, but now he was dreading the thought that it could be.

Taki looked up at him in disbelief and sat up a bit straighter. What do you mean what kids? I'm sorry but are you completely unaware of what the Corporation has and does in the dungeon?
Taki was an expert on the Corporation's dungeon. He had been there for two years and had only recently been moved to a better room. He knew every person that had ever been through there, heard every torture, and marked every death on the wall of his cell. It was a harsh life but he tried to make the best of it. The point was, Taki could hardly believe this guy didn't even know about the prison. Most guards enjoyed being done there to torment the prisoners but at least everyone was aware of its horror. Except this person apparently.

"This is the first time I've been in the dungeon, Taki. And I didn't come here willingly- the smurf summoned me."Sinclair explained,"Besides, I'm not exactly at the top of the totem pole or anything around here. So, what kids?
In Sinclair's world, "don't ask, don't tell" applied. His allegiance wavered from the beginning so discouraging him further with things it was obvious he wouldn't approve of. . .Well, he was kept in the dark for a reason, at any rate.
