Yup, she was crying. But she was also going to trust him. Otherwise she would have stopped working He was glad she trusted him that much. It took strength and if the positions were switched, he was not sure if he could have done it. And it broke his heart when she sobbed his name.
Yeah, I remember. He was smiling at the memory even if she couldn't see. I thought you were gorgeous and I probably couldn't even get you talk to me. But you did. And then I made a fool of myself falling in the water, he eased out a short laugh and wished he was still holding her hand. But you didn't care. And it was the kind of time you know you are meant to be with someone. When they can laugh at you falling in salt water and still want to be your friend. Oh and Raily? Yeah I hear she is on a long term mission. But we were always just friends. I dated a lot of girls but you were the only one I actually fell for. Sparrow was struggling to keep his eyes open now. Desirae, you are the reason I wake up and the person I fall asleep picturing. You are and always will be the best, purest, and most wonderful part of my life. And I am so... ow... so honored you're going to be my wife. I love you more than you will ever know. And then Sparrow fainted.

Desirae found herself blushing. He thought she was gorgeous then? She'd never really thought of it, even though he gave her plenty of compliments. With Sparrow, it was hard to forget that she was loved. To think he thought she wouldn't talk to him was sort of funny; he was the handsome guy who shouldn't have talked to her, not the other way around. She was just the shy girl. But obviously they remembered it a bit differently; maybe it was better that way. Like, him falling? She didn't think of him as a fool for it, she thought it was nothing more than an accident that, at the time, she wished she could have prevented. She could remember feeling an immediate sense of pain when he fell. Though she hadn't known him very long at that point, she did care about him and she didn't want to see him hurt. Worrying about a stranger that she hardly wanted to speak to; imagine that. But Sparrow had a way of making her forget that she was just a shy, quiet girl. He made her feel confident and happy in a way that she'd never felt before. It was like he brought out the best side of her, the side she kept hidden from the world.
Sparrow's final words, that she was his reason and that he was glad she was to be his wife as well as him saying he loved her made her stop breathing for a moment. She wasn't sure why, it just overwhelmed her. Her breath came back in the form of a gasp when Sparrow fainted. No! Immediately Desirae dropped to her own knees, touching his chest with the hand that wasn't on his arm as if to check if he were still breathing before she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, hoping to focus on healing him. She could only hope that it would go faster
if she could ignore the rest of the world; besides, if she gave herself any time at all to really let her mind realize that Sparrow had fainted, she probably would have started crying hysterically. That wouldn't help anything. Desirae felt her chest heave as her crying caught up with her, making her breathing choppy. This whole experience was making her tired. She would have gave anything to just stop and curl up into a ball against Sparrow, to pretend that nothing, and no one existed except him. She shivered again. To take her mind off of it, which wasn't an easy thing to do, she drew her hand up to Sparrow's cheek to gently trace the skin with her fingertips. Touching him in that way brought her comfort, even if he couldn't respond to it.
"I'm sorry, I won't do this again, I promise. I didn't mean to hurt you,"Desirae whispered softly. He couldn't hear her as far as she knew, but she was saying it more as a promise to him, as a realization of what appeared to be a mistake on her part.

Sparrow's eyes flickered open to someone stroking his chin. It brought him back to his childhood and the hard floor did resemble a cave-like ground... Falcon? He murmured, groggily. It felt like he had been aleep for hours. But the hand was too soft to be his rough brother's....
Des? He coughed out, trying to sit up. His whole brain was kind of fuzzy and numb and for a moment , he was confused as to where he was. Then it hit him. He had fainted when she was healing him.
Hey, A tired smile curled at the edge's of his mouth. My arm feels better. But numb. How long have I been out for? He asked, seeing the worry in her eyes as she looked down at him.

Desirae smiled when she heard his voice, even though he was addressing the wrong person. She hoped he wasn't delusional or anything, that wouldn't be good. . .
When he spoke her name her smile grew brighter. Then he tried to sit up and Desirae winced slightly as he struggled with the simple task. Oh no. She placed a gentle hand against his chest, looking into his eyes.
"I'm glad,"she stated softly when he said his arm felt better. When he said it was numb, she looked at it as if she could tell what was wrong just by looking. She couldn't. "I'm sorry, Sparrow."she offered. Then to his question, she bit her bottom lip softly, not the least bit anxious to give him a direct answer.
"A while, Sparrow."she answered vaguely, trying to keep the concern from coming through in her voice. Sge had been very worried about Sparrow.

Sparrow's whole body immediately relaxed when she touched him. But he wished she would stop apologizing. Fortunately, that was also one of the things he loved about Desirae. How considerate she always was of everyone else. Don't worry, its better than it hurting, right? He said with a twinkle in his deep blue eyes. But from what I remember from First Aid, I probably shouldn't move it for awhile. Do we have any medical tape? He asked, looking around the room.
He could tell she had been worried... and wasn't telling him the whole truth. But he didn't pry. It really didn't make that much of a difference anyway. I'm just glad I'm awake now. He rubbed his eyes. I sort of dreamed of Falcon. He added softly. The normally obnoxiously loud Sparrow always got quiet when he spoke of his brother. Yet Desirae had always understood. She was the only one he ever mentioned him to, even if it was a rare topic for Sparrow to even bring up.

Desirae was happy to see him relax- obviously he wasn't lying about the pain, or she thought he would have been unable to relax in such a way. When Sparrow told her not to worry, Desirae tried not to laugh. She settled for a smile. How could she not worry? It was still nice of him to say. Then, as if suddenly remembering, she nodded in agreement to what he said. She knew a lot about First Aid herself, but she'd been so occupied about his well being and the fact that he wasn't conscious, that she hadn't thought to get it before.
Desirae got up reluctant to leave him, and retrieved the small box of medical supplies; it was the one that specifically contained individual packets of wipes for cleaning wounds, individually packaged squares of gauze, a roll of medical tape and a roll of an Ace Bandage. Desirae held it close to her as she sat down beside him.
"I don't want to hurt you, Sparrow,"Desirae voiced softly as her eyes moved to his arm uncertainly. She had no objection to helping him, to putting it on since it would be hard with one hand if he did it himself, but she didn't want to hurt him again so she was a bit nervous to touch his arm at all. Her thoughts changed instantly when Sparrow mentioned Falcon. A dream about him? Desirae's eyes showed her concern.
"About Falcon?"she echoed,"What happened?"

Sparrow's azure eyes followed her as Desirae got up to get the kit and sat back down beside him. As she emptied its contents and started unfolding the ace bandage, he smiled at her with kindness in his gaze.
Don't worry Des, I don't think you could ever hurt me. Then with a mischevious wink he added, And if you do, I'll just faint again!
As Desirae proceeded to wrap his arm, Sparrow's thoughts quietly drifted to his dream. It helped distract him from the wound dressing. Just his voice and his hand on me. Protecting me. Not feeling scared. It was just really vague. He trailed off wistfully.

Desirae's eyes didn't leave his as he said that he couldn't hurt her. She smiled weakly, not entirely convinced by his words. When he said that he would just faint again, her smile remained though that was the last thing she wanted him to do. It was okay, if he didn't have to feel the pain than that was good, but she was definitely worried about him being unconscious.
Desirae's touches were gentle, but she wasn't going to mess it up, she wasn't going to have to do it again because she was nervous. Essentially she had to ignore her emotions and pretend he was just another boy.
"I liked Falcon,"Desirae offered. She hadn't really got to know him, but it was no secret that Sparrow and Falcon had a close bond. But no matter how much she wanted to, she could not relate to Sparrow and the relationship. She wouldn't pretend to, either. It was always nice to hear about him, just not to try to talk about him herself. Desirae finished wrapping his arm, and with that accomplished she leaned closer to Sparrow, placing a loving kiss against his lips.

It was nice to see Dessy smile again. He knew she had been worried about him but the fact that her eyes brightened soothed him more than a bandage ever could. Sparrow even noticed the speed of the wrap increased and assumed she was just trying to get it over with. He actually preferred that, compared to her trying to be tender.
When I left, he took a part of me. He wasn't just my brother, Des, he was my father... and my mother... and my only friend for many, many years. And sometimes, Sparrow paused, lifting his eyes to the ceiling. I imagine he'll come here and give me that piece back. 'Cause I feel so empty without it. Without my brother. He looked over at Des and smiled gently. He liked you too.
Sparrow leaned in to kiss her back and smiled when she leaned back. So, now what? He tested out the sling and found it helped him move his arm without it hurting. Perfect. We've seen each other, talked about my brother, opened a wound, I've fainted, and then closed a wound. Guess our day is over. he joked with a short laugh at the end.

"I wish I could understand, I wish I could relate to you. I really do. But I don't have anyone but my little brother,"Desirae began, hesitating when she said 'little brother'- she hadn't spoken of him in a long time. And, in fact, she hadn't thought too much about him since she met Sparrow and decided that she never wanted to leave Bayville. It wasn't that hard of a choice; she didn't have the greatest home life to begin with. And her brother was probably better off without her, anyway.
"I wish he was here for you, I do,"Desirae added,"Maybe. . .Maybe he will be back. I'm sure he misses you like you miss him. Even if he left, I'm sure he thinks about you- he really did seem to care about you, that was obvious from the moment I met him."
Desirae offered a smile when he said that the day was over. Honestly, she didn't want him to leave, but healing him had left her a bit more sleepy than she'd like. Not that it wasn't worth it to stay awake for Sparrow- oh, it was. She missed him so much when he was gone and there would be time for sleep later when she had to leave his side. But in the same way that she didn't want to leave him, she wouldn't be one to stay around Sparrow just for the sake of it, she wouldn't refuse to part with him if he wanted to take his leave.

Sparrow simply nodded. He knew Desirae didn't like to talk about her brother and he had never pryed from her such a sensitive subject. Even talkative Sparrow knew boundaries when he saw them. And it was just a part of the trust they shared.
I hope he does too, Sparrow said softly. His eyes sparkled a bit contently when Desirae spoke of Falcon. But I guess till then, I will just have to be satisfied with you. He grinned and scooped her off the floor, holding her legs around him so she wouldn't fall and laughing at her surprise. All of those missions sure had payed off in the strength department.

When Sparrow said that he'd have to be satisfied with her, she grinned. She definitely wouldn't mind that. Sparrow's attention was something Desirae loved. Desirae still wanted Falcon to come back- she could share. But in the meantime, she would make the most of it.
Desirae was surprised, indeed, when she was lifted up from the floor and closer to him. In fact, she didn't speak while he did it, too startled and mildly amused. When he laughed, she seemed to get over her surprise, a bright smile replacing her expression.
"I don't think I'll mind having all your attention for myself,"Desirae giggled softly."But you'd best be careful. If you do that, I might not want to share you when Falcon comes back," This time Desirae was going to ensure that he knew his brother would come back. She was tempted to just drop it, but Desirae was sure that if Falcon was alive, he would speak to Sparrow again. Desirae did wonder, though, if there was something she didn't know. Sparrow didn't lie to her as far as she knew, unless he didn't want to hurt her. Yet, why had Falcon left? Was there some fight, some situation she wasn't aware of? Desirae knew better than to ask him- it wasn't something she needed to know.

Sparrow bright blues lit up when Dessy smiled at him. I think I'll have a hard time paying attention to him. He agreed, accepting for the moment that she believed his brother would someday return. And though she didn't know that much about Falcon, Sparrow found himself believing it too.
Desirae's legs still wrapped around his waist, Sparrow leaned her against a wall and brought his lips as close to hers as he could without touching. His eyes were open and they looked deep into hers, seeing every color and every expression. He didn't say anything, just stood there in the hallway, their faces close together intimately.

Desirae's breath caught as she gazed back at Sparrow. She expected him to kiss her, and when he didn't, it only made her want it more. But she told herself that she wasn't going to tell him, surely he knew exactly what he was doing. Besides, just being close to Sparrow, just watching him, should content her. And for nearly a entire minute, it did. But then it occurred to her that she couldn't fool Sparrow or herself. Desirae was a very patient person, but she wasn't able to restrain herself. She wasn't as good with the silence, with the stillness. Not with him. It was so quiet in her life that Sparrow was the sound. And when he wasn't? Honestly, it was sort of unnerving. And yet, it was still appealing to have him so interested in her, so focused. . .
"Don't tease me,"Desirae whimpered, a playful pout on her features."How am I supposed to resist you when you're within my reach?" It was everything she could do not to put a stop to it by leaning closer and kissing him. She wouldn't do it. Talking helped her establish this resolve. And, she decided that if she said it over and over in her head, she'd be more likely to stick by it.

Sparrow's eyes sparkled mischeviously back at her. How about you don't? He asked seductively, and he leaned in. Their lips touched gently at first and then more heated. Sparrow's mouth wrapped around hers as he remembered how long he had been without her. Tightening his hands more securely around her thighs, he made their way down the hallway to his bedroom, never breaking their passionate embrace. Sparrow finally reached his room and kicked it open. All one would see was Sparrow placing Desirae tenderly on the bed before the door slammed shut with a definite click.
